This position is responsible for building a cooperative relationship with Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan’s Regina ReStore donors and customers.  Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan’s ReStores exist to generate revenue to help build homes for Habitat families across Saskatchewan. By pricing and selling donated new and used items, we can work towards our goal of raising as much money as possible as a non-profit organization for our local housing programs.

Your success in this role is accomplished by providing efficient and timely pickup of merchandise and providing excellent customer service throughout the entire process. In addition, this position will provide assistance in the receiving area of the ReStore and to the store manager with administrative duties as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Organization of the pickups with the support of volunteers and staff.
  • Ensuring pick-ups are done in a timely manner.
  • Developing rapport with donors and expressing appreciation for their support of the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan.
  • Having a thorough knowledge of Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan’s ReStore policies regarding donations, and explaining these policies to donors.
  • Ensuring that all donated materials have been inspected, cleaned and priced prior to going to the sales floor.
  • Ensuring that all Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan’s equipment and vehicles are clean and identifying any maintenance requirements.
  • Assisting staff with customer inquiries, including the loading of purchased items as required.
  • Assisting other ReStore staff as required during vacation, breaks, lunchtime and when not busy.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the waste management, recycling and salvage policies are adhered to.
  • Greeting customers and creating a comfortable environment for customers to experience what ReStore has to offer.
  • Assist in providing a clean, safe environment, including identifying and eliminating potential hazards.
  • Providing friendly and efficient telephone service.
  • Performing daily ReStore safety inspections on trucks, forklifts, reach trucks and skid steer.
  • Operation of forklift, reach truck and skid steer as required.
  • Ability to operate store equipment such as but not limited to, telephone, copiers, fax, till, labelling machine and computers.
  • Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions.
  • Physical ability to move large, bulky or heavy merchandise.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
  • Must wear CSA-certified protective footwear at all times while working.
  • Other tasks or duties are required by management.

Preferred Skills

  • Retail and customer service experience.
  • Equipment operation certification.
  • Ability to demonstrate kindness and use effective listening skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and fairly with people from various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • SGI driver’s abstract and a Class 5 valid driver’s license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • 1 year or more of driving experience.

Required Work Schedule

  • Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Hourly Wage

  • $16.50/hour
