Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan is looking for a savvy Marketing and Communication Coordinator to manage all marketing and communications for the organization. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for all creativity, implementation and management of social media, website and other marketing and communications activities. You should have command of best practices and trends in marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.

In this position, you will also be responsible for producing high-quality content that engages all internal and external stakeholders and builds brand recognition. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with brilliant presentation and organizational skills.

All activities are designed to raise the profile of Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan across the province, generate enthusiasm for our mission, drive procurement and partnership opportunities and build the case for the need for financial support to achieve the organization’s goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Implement and manage annual marketing strategies and tactics for Habitat Saskatchewan and all Habitat ReStores that help us to grow more followers, engage and retain followers, and create active fans and promoters of our organization.
  • Creation, implementation and management of Habitat Saskatchewan’s messaging and presence on all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and any additional channels that may be deemed relevant.
  • Ensure that social media platforms and the website are working in collaboration.
  • Management of the organizational social media impact plan.
  • Work with Habitat for Humanity Canada on brand compliance, use of marketing toolkits, and engage in departmental federation calls.
  • Undertake all website management functions including creative direction, development, and content.
  • Plan, design, order and manage all marketing materials and collateral for all departments.
  • Booking/buying and overall management of mass media advertisements and marketing space (radio, newspaper, Google Ads, billboards, etc.).
  • Assist other departments with marketing and communication support as needed.
  • Assist Habitat Chapter with brand compliance and all marketing initiatives when required.
  • Assist and manage Habitat events.
  • Assist and development annual reports.
  • Responsible for proofing all print material, website, and social media content.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Develop, implement, and manage annual communications plans and strategies that help build brand awareness.
  • Manage and update all crisis communication plans and advisories.
  • Responsible for media releases and advisories, ensuring proper content and quotes are included and meet Habitat Canada standards.
  • Ensure media follow up is conducted, as necessary.
  • Development of the Annual Report and other communication materials as needed.
  • Responsible to ensure the proofing process is followed for all print material and website content.
  • Support in the planning and management of media events, including Key Ceremonies, Sod Turning and other media events.


  • In conjunction with the fundraising department, ensure that proper recognition is given to supporters and partners, including follow-through in all recognition agreements.
  • Assist the fundraising department with stewardship of donors, and the Annual Giving program when required.
  • Assist the fundraising department with fundraising initiatives such as lead marketing practices, in-person and online fundraising, and direct mail campaigns.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in social media, marketing, and communications.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in social media, marketing or communications and/or public relations, and/or equivalent related work experience.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and criminal record check.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Canva, and Photoshop.
  • Experience Vimeo or other video creation software.
  • Experience using databases.
