Full Job Description

Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan is looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to fill the position of ReStore Manager for our Regina location for a Maternity Leave term.

The Habitat for Humanity Regina ReStore exists to generate revenue to help build homes for more families in Regina. By pricing and selling donated items competitively in the second-hand market, we can work towards our goal of raising as much money as possible for our local home building and community partner programs.

Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan is looking for a leader who can assist the ReStore in Regina in realizing its full potential, while coaching and directing a small dedicated team of employees who work to assist clientele within the store, and sort and organize donations for re-sale.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

Sales & Customer Service

  • Ensures every employee provides superior experience to all donors, volunteers and customers while achieving sales and donation targets.
  • Provides a pipeline of potential donors, volunteers and families to the affiliate.


  • Establishes a network of manufacturers, distributors, retail operators, hotels, and others for the purpose of securing donated new and end of line construction/home furnishing materials for sale
  • Develops relationships with home building contractors and renovators in order to secure more donated renovation materials from private residences
  • Identifies salvage opportunities and ensures an effective and safe program.

Pricing & Merchandising

  • Works with the ReStore staff to ensure store layout(s) maximize revenue potential
  • Provides a clean and orderly aesthetic to maximize the customer experience.
  • Employs pricing strategies that maximize store revenue and ensure high inventory turnover.


  • Ensures all workers maintain a safety focus, have all required safety equipment and receive appropriate safety and technical training.
  • Participate on the OH&S committee.
  • Responsible for ensuring that stores meet all Workplace Safety and reporting requirements
  • Monitors and schedules, as required, all staff and volunteer training in the areas of Health and Safety, Equipment Certifications, WHIMIS, and First Aid
  • Drives all ReStore safety functions – inspections, training, policy and procedure, reporting and enforcement
  • Responsible for the wellbeing and safety of all staff, volunteers and shoppers and ensures appropriate steps are followed when safety concerns arise.

Site Management

  • Maintains and makes improvements to the building and yard, following yearly warehouse maintenance schedule including such things as fire extinguishers, fire alarms, truck maintenance, etc.
  • Ensures yard is clean, organized, maintains a pleasing aesthetic and ensures safety of all.

Volunteer Program

  • Ensures a positive, welcoming and meaningful experience for volunteers in the ReStore.
  • Maintain open communication between ReStore and Volunteer Coordinator to support a robust volunteer program.

Operations & Growth

  • Works with Mar/Com Coordinator to manage the advertising and publicity for the ReStore within the scope of the approved ReStore budget and policies, practices and procedures.
  • Track and record daily and monthly sales.
  • Leads weekly ReStore staff meetings
  • Develop new and improve upon current store policies and procedures to ensure consistency and structure.
  • Develop annual budgets, operational business plans, and strategic plans.
  • Responsible for maximum effectiveness and efficiency of operations in order to maximize profitability.
  • Creates monthly ReStore reports that articulate a snapshot of the current state of the ReStore.
  • Ensures compliance with all financial reporting practices including the reconciling of daily sales, the daily closing out of all financial transactions, daily bank deposits, and preparation of all invoices for payment.
  • Establishes the value of all gift-in-kind donations ensuring compliance with existing policies and Canadian Revenue Agency regulations.
  • Responsible for attending and participating in all weekly management meetings, regular Manager calls with HFHC and bi-weekly meetings with CEO.
  • Identifies, researches and presents opportunities for growth to CEO and Board as required

Team Lead

  • Trains, orients, schedules and supervises all ReStore staff.
  • Schedules and coordinates staff shifts and working hours
  • Conducts all yearly and 3 month ReStore staff performance and compensation reviews, subject to prior approval by CEO.
  • Ensures that all Human Resources policies and procedures are followed.


  • Work collaboratively with Resource development team to develop new corporate donor relationships and steward existing relationships to ensure a steady flow of sellable product.

Online Sales

  • Work collaboratively with the Online Sales Coordinator to ensure maximum profit from online sales and coordination of product with in-store sales.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the mission for Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan and the mandate of the ReStore
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtraction, multiplying and dividing.
  • Ability to operate store equipment such as but not limited to, telephone, copiers, fax, till, labeling machine and computers.
  • Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions.
  • Physical ability to move large, bulky or heavy merchandise.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
  • Retail experience.
  • Equipment operation certification.
  • Must wear CSA certified protective footwear at all times while working.
  • All Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan staff that operate a company vehicle must provide a SGI drivers abstract and a valid driver’s license.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Salary: From $50,000.00 per year
